Education and Services
I began painting in pastels 15 years ago, but for the last 8 I have been painting exclusively in oils. I am largely self-taught since my one and one half years as a fine art major at the University of Kansas and graduation from the University of Missouri. I received a post graduate paralegal degree from Texas State University.
To continue my art education I have attended numerous workshops and studied with renowned painters David Leffel, Sherrie McGraw, Rose Frantzen, Qiang Huang, Stephanie Birdsall, and many others.
Although I have paintings for sale through galleries, Instagram and my website, I also love to do commissioned portraits of people and beloved pets!

Inspiration
I am inspired by the beauty in everyday life and frequently "see" a painting in faces on the street, at museums, or everyday places. Painting, for me, is a way to capture and express that beauty whether it is a person, treasured object, or beloved pet. To me the way light travels over objects in a still life, pet or human portrait is magical and I strive to create an emotional response from the viewer.
